Hey, nice to meet

the tWO OF you.

I'm Amy Hastie...

Proud Dog Guardian and Playmate

I started on the path that lead to the creation of The Two of You after a near disaster and recognising a pattern:

I have always needed a dog by my side in times of great emotional need. Every relationship break up, loss of a loved one, emotional devastation, if I didn't have a dog, I found one. It helped. A lot. So when my daughter was in great emotional pain, the way I new to help was to get her a dog, a puppy. To cut a long story short, it helped. She got through it. The dog on the other hand was a mess. And it was through researching ways to get this dog back on track that lead me to study enough information to help others, but not in the way you might think...

I was driving through a busy Sydney suburb with my friend, Navan, when we saw a lady exit an apartment building to take her dog to the nearest grassy square for a wee. Navan turned to me and said "why do people even own dogs if they live in an apartment?" I felt the answer straight away, so strong and intense was the rush of knowing that I had trouble putting it into words. The feeling though, held enormous purpose and clarity. The answer is...

For her heart! She owned that dog as a way of caring for her own heart.

In our modern world, we are massively under-utilising the superpowers of dogs.

We can feel their significance. We understand the import of their potential in our hearts, just not in our minds.
They are guides, healers, helpers and teammates — not house ornaments and mess makers only! They are a blessing not a burden, though for too many this is a fine line.

If you accommodate your dog to bring their superpower into your life, then you will both feel connected with and valued by the other.

That's what I wanted and its what I have found, over and over again, with Scruffy (red cloud kelpie), with Nelli (stag hound mix), with Sumba (blue heeler cross), with Ruchi (whippet), with Wasi (miniature pinscher) and now with Marli (Catahoula cross). I thank them all for sharing selflessly the miracle that they are, with me. Cheers guys, you rock.

Thanks Amy. You helped us understand our dog's obsessive behaviour and excessive barking, and how to help her by changing how we reacted. After just a week of following your suggestions she is a much calmer dog. She understands our commands and reacts quickly. She is not so excitable and is beginning to self control her reactions to noises and events which used to stimulate her. We are looking forward to discovering how much more you can teach us. I would highly recommend Amy if you and your dog need any advice or assistance. "
